QualityCoast Pilot Destinations
 
The following coastal destinations have successfully completed the pilot activities within the framework of CoPraNet-QualityCoast:

 

ENGLAND Sefton (Merseyside) Sefton Borough Council is a coastal local authority in North West England with a 22-mile long coastline stretching from the Ribble Estuary in the north to the Port of Liverpool in the south on the outer edge of the Mersey Estuary.  
GERMANY Usedom (Oder Delta) on Usedom there are 11 nature resorts and the naturepark Island Usedom.  

IRELAND Cork Harbour is one of the largest coastal water bodies in Ireland and is analogous with many other coastal locations in that it is a multi-resource and multi-use environment. In an effort to optimise the feedback from the exercise, TQMs were chosen from each thematic area (nature, carrying capacity, water and environmental quality, socio-economic).

 
NETHERLANDS Noordwijk Municipality is a seaside-resort with a great diversity of modern facilities for tourism and congresses. The municipality is surrounded by sea, extensive dunes, meadows and bulb fields.  
NETHERLANDS Zandvoort Municipality is surrounded by 47 km² of dunes, with two National Parks: National Park Zuid-Kennemerland and the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes.
NORTHERN IRELAND Newcastle, Co Down is situated within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).  
POLAND Stepnica Local Community (Oder Delta) located between Szczecin Bay / Lagoon and Goleniow Forest Complex represents the typical mosaic landscape with coast, coastal meadows, swamps and peats areas, agriculture landscape  
PORTUGAL Aveiro the Venice of Portugal, Aveiro is surrounded by salt-flats, beaches and lagoons and dominated by the Central Canal running through town.
SPAIN Calvia (Mallorca) the coastline is part of the municipality of Calvià (Mallorca Island) and represent an extension of 54 km of coast line, part of it natural protected.
SPAIN Fuerteventura Island (Canarias) the Canarian Institute of Marine Sciences (ICCM) selected three different pilot areas in Fuerteventura Island  
SWEDEN Stockholm (Ekoparken – The National City Park) in 1995, the first National City Park in the world, Ekoparken, was inaugurated in Stockholm, a park where royal park traditions meet the flora and fauna of the forest and archipelago.
