| During the next month the Coastal & Marine Union - EUCC will launch a marketing campaign together with the QualityCoast Destinations to promote them as the most attractive destinations for visitors interested in nature and landscape, environment, cultural identity and local identity. Where possible we will highlight their performance in tourism quality and sustainability. At the moment there are 63 QualityCoast destinations, 10 in the Netherlands and 53 in Southern Europe; they can be found in www.qualitycoast.info/top50. TUI-The Netherlands has already agreed to highlight the QualityCoast destinations in their travel brochures.
The campaign will continue to run throughout 2012 and beyond. A range of activities are developed to promote the QualityCoast destinations. Examples are: promotion at holiday fairs (such as the Dutch Vakantiebeurs, attracting 120,000 people looking for holiday options); dissemination of QualityCoast brochures (in three languages) throughout Europe; inclusion in a QualityCoast social media campaign (through facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter,..); we will be able to attract and provide the public with more information about each destination through our campaign.
Successful applicants will receive an invitation to the next international QualityCoast Award Ceremony and Workshop, where they will receive the QualityCoast Award and the certifications. Winners of the QualityCoast policy awards will be offered 1 QualityCoast flag and 1 QualityCoast banner, but they can also order extra flags and banners (at a cost basis), which can be displayed throughout the community territory during 24 months. QualityCoast BasiQ awarded destinations are allowed to display the special QualityCoast BasiQ flag during 12 months.
